From an environmental perspective, the '3 R's of reduce, reuse and recycle or sometimes the '4R's including refurbish are being talked about as the panacea to the problem of waste. However, while practicing the 3 or 4 R's it is critical to evaluate responsibly the outcome of the practice. Reuse of everything may perhaps not be the right from the environmental or health perspective. A total ban on plastics is certainly bound to push mankind many decades backward. Reduction in usage beyond a point may hamper productivity and economic growth. Recycling without a sense of responsibility towards the environment is more damaging than not getting into recycling at all.

 

This is where Respose wishes to make a difference by introducing Responsibility in the Recycling process right upto disposal, the last part of the recycling chain. We look at the goal of resposal - responsible disposal as the ultimate objective of all our efforts in mainstreaming the recycling processes.

We help industries, schools and hospitals harness the sunlight wasted on their rooftops and convert it into solar energy thus saving on energy bills. e-Waste

e-Waste or WEEE (Waste electrical and electronic equipment) or e-scrap comprises of all equipment using electrical or electronic parts. Any equipment with electrical or electronic components becomes 'e-waste' after its usable life. Such end of life may happen due to many reasons such as technology obsolescence, functional damage, higher repair costs, redundancy of needs etc.

 

Such out of use e-waste is rich in basic elements and precious metals. If it is dumped and exposed to soil and moisture, a slow process of degeneration starts. In this process, ionic cells are formed between the metal and soil molecules leading to a slow leaching. This gradually poisons the soil and makes it completely infertile and hazardous to health. Also, many unorganized sector recyclers use crude methods for recovering precious metals. Due to such methods, there is a significant amount of land, air and water pollution that can lead to several health problems.

 

Respose enables recyclers to process e-waste in a environmentally friendly method. Apart from that, we also ensure a much higher efficiency of recovery of both base and precious metals.

Waste Tyres

With growing number of vehicles on Indian roads, existing road conditions, deteriorating driving habits and challenging weather conditions, the number of waste tyres is increasing rapidly. Currently there is a large unorganized sector working in this area in different fashions.

 

We can enable extremely efficient resposal of tyres through a two stage process. In stage one the rubber and the steel is separated by processes such as de-beading and / or size reduction + magnetic separation. In the second stage the rubber is converted into Industrial Oil through pyrolysis process.

 

The entire project is extremely profitable.

Municipal Solid Waste

Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) is a burgeoning problem in every country of the world. In countries such as India where the awareness levels are extremely low, coupled with other socio-economic problems, the issue of MSW handling and disposal is even more complex and challenging. More often than not, we have comingled waste instead of waste properly segregated at source as in case of many advanced countries. In case of India and most other developing and underdeveloped countries a more practical solution therefore is to collect the waste quickly and do the sorting later efficiently using different sorting technologies.

Waste to Energy
